Hudson Valley Regional Envirothon

A five-member Team of high school students work together to compete on five environmental topics.  They are tested on their knowledge of Soils, Aquatics, Forestry, Wildlife, and Current Issues.

The primary goal of the Envirothon is to learn about the natural environment we live in so as to be better stewards of the land in the years to come.  In preparation for the event, students develop research skills, practice team building, and gain an appreciation for consensus decision making.

Columbia County's Chatham High School advances to the NYS Finals.

Team-work is key at the Wildlife station.

The regional competition is based on a ten county area.

There is no cost to the students, parents or school to participate, outside of providing the necessary transportation to the event site.  For more information about the program contact Doris Cady 518-828-4386x3.
